A Mozambican delegation headed by Economy Minister Adriano Maleiane participated in the African Development Bank’s Annual Meetings in Busan, Korea, a key conference on economic affairs for the continent at which Finance Ministers from the Bank’s 80 Member States meet with academics, development partners and civil society organizations.
Inspired by Korea’s successful, rapid industrialization, the World Bank and the African Development Bank have pledged to increase investments in education, in financing for innovative technologies, in science and technology laboratories, and in providing risk guarantees to support initiatives to propel Africa’s industrialization.
African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina closed the Bank’s 53rd Annual Meetings in Busan, Republic of Korea. He emphasized that the process of industrializing Africa must be a practical venture that can be achieved with good planning.

Busan, a large port city in South Korea, is known for its beaches, mountains and temples. Busy Haeundae Beach features the Sea Life Aquarium, plus a Folk Square with traditional games such as tug-of-war, while Gwangalli Beach has many bars and views of modern Diamond Bridge. Beomeosa Temple, a Buddhist shrine founded in 678 A.D., is at the base of Geumjeong Mountain, which has hiking trails.
