VISAS
General information on visa
Entry into Côte d’Ivoire requires a visa and valid passport, except for persons from ECOWAS countries and those that have signed special agreements with Côte d’Ivoire. A national identity card is sufficient for nationals from ECOWAS. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Côte d’Ivoire.
The Government of Côte d'Ivoire intends to facilitate the issuance of visas to all duly registered participants for the 2020 Annual Meetings. Participants, including those from countries where there are no Ivorian diplomatic or consular representations, will be able to apply for a visa online.

The cost of an e-visa is 73 euros. Upon payment of the visa fee, an electronic receipt will be emailed to the applicant. Please note that the payment receipt is not the visa. The electronic visa is issued within 3 working days. The applicant must print the e-visa and present it both at check-in on departure, and on arrival in Abidjan.
Participants from certain of the Bank’s member countries wishing to obtain an entry visa for Côte d’Ivoire before arriving in Abidjan are requested to contact Ivorian diplomatic missions with the following documents:
- A passport with at least 6 months’ validity
- A completed application form
- A recent identity photograph (45 mm x 35 mm)
- Proof of travel (invitation letter)
- A hotel reservation in Côte d’Ivoire
- Confirmation of air ticket reservation or a photocopy of the return air ticket
The following are exempt from visa fees: holders of diplomatic passports, of African Development Bank laissez-passers, of other laissez-passers and service passports, as well as citizens of countries that have visa waiver agreements with Côte d’Ivoire.
Length of Stay
Lengths of stay vary according to the type of visa. For the Annual Meetings, the length of stay will correspond to the type of visa issued upon arrival at Abidjan’s FHB Airport.
Côte d’Ivoire entry requirements for foreign nationals whose countries are exempt from the visa requirement
A valid passport is required for entry into Côte d’Ivoire. A national identity card is sufficient for nationals from ECOWAS. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Côte d’Ivoire.
N.B. United Nations experts and holders of passports or laissez-passers issued by the United Nations are exempted from entry visas for Côte d’Ivoire.
Holders of an African Development Bank laissez-passer are exempt from entry visas for Côte d’Ivoire.

Custom formalities
The Government of Côte d'Ivoire will facilitate customs formalities for members of delegations participating in the Annual Meetings. Special arrangements will be made to ease customs formalities in accordance with the current regulations of the country.
However, it is strictly forbidden to bring into Côte d’Ivoire prohibited products such as narcotics.
No dangerous goods may be brought into the country or exported from the country. Firearms are also prohibited. Any visitor wishing to bring a weapon of any kind, including sporting weapons, must obtain an authorization to bear firearms.
